Current Practice
Crime
Samantha has conducted a wide range of criminal defence work in the Crown and Magistrates’ Courts including serious drug offences, violence, public disorder, ASBO proceedings, and dishonesty including benefit fraud, criminal damage, and confiscation proceedings. Most recently she has completed a s.20 OAPA and Kidnapping, Firearms and False Imprisonment trial. In addition to her own trials, she has acted as Junior Counsel and Noting Brief in large and complex cases including terrorism and carrousel fraud.
Samantha has acted on behalf of the Prosecution conducting appeals against sentence, appeals against conviction, committals for sentence, and bail applications.
Family
Miss Lawrence also has experience in several areas of family work including Private and Public Law Children’s Act cases and Ancillary Relief. She has conducted numerous final hearings including s.37 applications. She acts for both parents, guardians and Local Authority. Most recently she has applied to the High Court for Judicial Review.
Immigration
Furthermore within her immigration practice she has conducted numerous successful cases involving entry clearance appeals, bail applications and asylum cases. She has appeared in the High Court for a Judicial Review that concerned both family and immigration issues.

Samantha enjoys traveling, cooking and running. Prior to coming to the Bar, Samantha completed an internship at the United Nations, she hopes that her international knowledge will be of use when conducting her own cases that have an international dimension to them.
