Paul Douglass Paul Douglass is an experienced practitioner in the areas of criminal, immigration and family law. He has represented many hundreds of clients from a very wide variety of backgrounds. He has represented people of extreme vulnerability: children in family, immigration and criminal proceedings; the elderly – his oldest client to date being an 86 year old man whom he successfully represented in proceedings for an occupation order against a much younger wife; victims of rape and other forms of torture prior to fleeing their homeland; the mentally disordered in criminal, family and immigration proceedings. He has represented drug addicts and alcoholics. He has represented clients from a huge variety of ethnic backgrounds. He has also represented members of the armed forces, single parents, journalists, political activists, pensioners, business people, the unemployed, students and academics and a member of the clergy to name but a few.

Crime. Paul is an experienced trial advocate who has successfully defended in trials involving for example serious violence, sexual assault, drug importation, armed robbery and fraud. He is experienced in Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) proceedings.

Immigration. Over the years Paul has had extensive experience of cases before the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal covering asylum, entry clearance, human rights, deportation and EEA Regulations. He has represented clients in the Administrative Court and the Court of Appeal.

Family. Paul’s most recently reported case is Re W (a child)(adoption order: set aside and leave to oppose) [2010] All ER (D) 264 (Nov).
