Chamber's normal hours of business are 8.45am to 6.15pm, but we can also be contacted out of hours on the numbers detailed above. In the event that you telephone Chambers out of hours our telephone system will divert any calls to one of the clerks listed.
Our Senior Clerk, Christine Eadie (pictured right), has been a barrister's clerk since 1990, prior to which she worked for the Lord Chancellor's Department as a Listing Officer for the Kent Crown Courts, Chief Clerk of a County Court, and as a Court Clerk at the Central Criminal Court. She manages the practices of each Member of Chambers, as well as overseeing Chambers' administration.
She is always pleased to deal with enquiries from professional clients as to the suitability and availability of counsel for any particular case, as well as the level of fees likely to be charged by individual Members.
Matters relating to Counsel who specialise in international law are also dealt with by our Senior Clerk.
Christine has overall responsibility for the running of Chambers clerk’s room where she is assisted by Robert Joyce and Gary Wright.
Robert has been a Clerk since 2002 and has experience of clerking all areas of work within which Chambers specialises. He is responsible for the daily running of Chambers' diary with particular responsibility for clerking the Criminal Practice Group. He also deals with fee enquiries in respect of all Crown Court fees, Court of Appeal matters and privately funded Magistrate’s Court fees.
Gary Wright (pictured right) joined Chambers in 2005 and has taken on responsibility for the clerking of our Immigration, Family and Civil Practice Groups. He will be pleased to discuss the agreement of fees for privately paid cases in those areas, in consultation with the Senior Clerk where necessary.
Both Robert Joyce and Gary Wright will be happy to answer any enquiries in respect of publicly funded Magistrates Court and Prison Reform Law cases.
Our clerk's room operates Iris Hosted computerised case management and fee system, as well as having the benefit of secure e-mail with cjsm and scanning facilities.
Conference rooms are available in Chambers, and Members of Chambers will also attend conferences at solicitors' offices if this is preferable.
The clerking team at 9 King's Bench Walk are dedicated to providing a high level of efficient and prompt service at all times.
We pride ourselves on our commitment to client care, delivered through a friendly and approachable clerk's room.
Our Administrator, Martin Hughes, will deal with any enquiries concerning Chambers facilities, forthcoming seminars and events and suppliers.
Alison Baker provides administrative support to Chambers.
